Reconstitution Guide
Step-by-step instructions for properly reconstituting lyophilized peptides.
Gather Materials
You will need: lyophilized peptide vial, bacteriostatic water (BAC), an insulin syringe or Luer-Lock syringe with 18G draw needle, and alcohol prep pads.
Clean the Vial Tops
Wipe the rubber stoppers of both the peptide vial and the BAC water vial with alcohol prep pads. Allow to air dry for 10-15 seconds.
Draw the BAC Water
Using your syringe, draw the desired amount of bacteriostatic water. Common volumes: 1mL or 2mL depending on the desired concentration.
Add Water to Peptide Vial
Insert the needle through the peptide vial stopper at an angle. Let the water flow gently down the side of the vial — do NOT spray directly onto the powder cake.
Swirl Gently
Once the water is added, gently swirl the vial in circular motions. Never shake or agitate — this can denature the peptide and reduce potency.
Allow to Dissolve
Let the vial sit for 1-2 minutes. Most peptides will dissolve completely into a clear solution. If cloudiness persists, gently swirl again.
Label and Store
Label the vial with: compound name, reconstitution date, concentration (mg/mL), and expiration date. Store reconstituted peptides in the refrigerator at 2-8°C (36-46°F).
